Apple announced its augmented reality headset called Apple Vision Pro will be available in the market early next year for a price of $3,499. As previously expected, the AR headset will be controlled with eyes, hands, and voice. The AR set will have a separate battery pack, lasting up to 2 hours.

“It’s the first Apple product you look through, and not at,” CEO Tim Cook said of the device. He called augmented reality a profound technology. Cook also believes that AR technology is the future, and it is quickly becoming a reality. “This is the next chapter in that, and it’s a huge leap,” Cook said.
The Appearance
The headset mask, called the “Light Seal,” and strap, which the manufacturer calls the “Head Band, are both cloth-lined. According to Apple, they can flex to fit various face shapes and head sizes.
The Head Band is ribbed and fits around the back of your head, and you can swap different sizes and styles of the band.
The appearance of the goggles is very similar to those worn while skiing. The headset has a glass front and an aluminum frame.

How it Works
It has five sensors, 12 cameras, and a 4K display for each eye. The mini-computer device attached to the headset is cooled with a fan.
The AR headset is controller-free, and you can browse rows of app icons in an operating system called VisionOS by looking at them. You can tap to select or give audio commands to perform your preferred tasks. Apple says “hundreds of thousands of familiar iPhone and iPad apps” will automatically work that way. The headset also supports Bluetooth accessories, including Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad, and allows you to connect your Mac to use inside the headset.
Apple has clearly stated that if you’re in full virtual reality mode, it will make it evident to others so they do not disturb you.

Apple took years to create its AR headset with highly detailed features. Apple tried entering the market sometime back but still needs the desired outcome. Meta will be the main competitor for Apple in both the short and the long. Healthy competition from both sides can help hasten the development process and result in better quality products produced in a relatively shorter period of time.
