Why is there a membership fee?
Our mission is to create an extremely strong community. What defines a strong community? A strong membership. In order to ensure that the community is active, constructive, engaging, warm, diverse, and truly does care to learn and communicate with others we have a small monthly or annual fee. This vets members coming in by providing a small investment and proof that they care enough to join a community like this. We were free at first, but with the influx of spammers, inactive members, trolls and so fourth, we decided to direct the growth of the community through paid membership. The proceeds from this membership also allows the creator to continue strategic growth such as partnerships with other brands, access to other tools, and guest chat AMA's with investing influencers. Also it allows us to add new tools, host the website, and compensate a bit of the time to manage the website. If you have any concerns feel free to contact us.
How is this different from Facebook groups/reddit communities/forums and other existing community type platforms?
First of all, it is real-time. It is literally a group chat which makes it extremely easy to share, communicate and follow ideas. Different topics will be organized allowing for focused discussion.
There is also a level of anonymity so you can freely ask any question without your Facebook name and picture being seen. You can also have a quick call with anyone to further discuss. Slack has built in voice calling and video calling.
It is also private. This means when you post a question or thought, it doesn't get publicized to the entire world like it does on Reddit & Facebook. Our chat is only accessible to members and members only. Lastly, while their is anonymity, it is completely optional, this means you will actually know which credible person is providing insight to you.
Lastly, social media is extremely distracting. You may think of it as a useful tool in different groups, but the scenerio for most people is being distracted by things they may not need to learn and see at that time. Our community is purely focused on investing and only investing. You can will not be distracted by anything else.
How do I access and use the chat?
The chat can be accessed by signing into our Slack Link Here (also linked under member log-in on the website here). That means as long as you have an internet connection you can access the chat. Alternatively, you can download the Slack app on your mobile phone and take part in the discussion through your phone or tablet.
What kind of content and discussions will be in the chat?
The chat is organized in several sub-topics. As new topics begin to pop up we create new channels to narrow the conversation. Most of the discussion currently is based on discussing US and Canadian stocks and options. We also discuss ETF's, and general market trends.
If it is not for me, how do I leave?
Extremely easy, either message us directly or you can leave the chat under your own settings. We'll cancel your subscription right away. No hard feelings. We are focusing on quality and not quantity. If it is not a good fit, not a problem.
Can I advertise my services in the group?
In order to keep the group discussions constructive and beneficial we do not want people "spamming" and "selling" their services every chance they get. The goal of this chat is to discuss ideas, opportunities, news, and advice. That being said, we will not limit members from doing business together. If someone is looking for a particular solution that you have, please feel free to discuss to provide value to each other. Our direct message system can be used for that type of situation.
Do I have to be a "professional" or "expert" to join?
The only prerequisite is an interest in investing and money making. Different members will have different backgrounds, experience levels, opinions, styles, and professions. We know that diversity is a strength and we want to build a diverse community. If you are just getting started in investing this is a great place to join and learn from others with a variety of skills.
