Option Alpha is one of the best YouTube channels to learn options trading. Their page states, “Our mission is to provide you with the most comprehensive options trading and investing education available anywhere, free of charge.” And they live up to it. Their ‘Options trading for Beginners’ playlist takes you through the basics of options trading. The videos show you what options are, how they work and how can you trade them. The Intermediate Playlist is a little more advanced while the Advanced Playlist is for serious traders. It goes deep into options trading and helps you chart out complex strategies.

Apart from this, they also have Bullish and Bearish options strategies playlists, and technical analysis to get you started.

TastyTrade

Total views: 29.4 million

TastyTrade touts itself as a “real financial network, producing 8 hours of live programming every weekday, Monday – Friday.” It aims at cutting down risk and maximizing profits. While its live videos are excellent, TastyTrade excels in Options content. A quick look at their videos will give you an idea about the extent of their Options coverage. They have everything from Options Trade Entry for Beginners to a whole series on Options Trading Greeks that includes, Gamma Risk, Color of Gamma, Delta, Vega, Vomma, theta and Vanna options strategies. They go deep into a topic but they simplify it so that it is easy to understand for anyone interested in this space.

Sky View Trading

Number of subscribers: 371,000

Total views: 16 million

Sky View Trading says, “We have strategies for all account sizes and skill levels including aspiring new traders to more advanced traders trading six-figure portfolios.” The channel has been around since 2012, and the number of subscribers who follow it is a testament to the quality of videos it puts out every week. It focuses especially on options trading and tries to ensure that its members make money every month. Its most popular videos are the ones that focus on beginners. ‘Understanding Option Prices’ has 3.8 million views, while the ‘Complete Beginners Guide’ has 1.5 million views and ‘The Right Way to Buy Options’ has 1.2 million views.

InTheMoney

Number of subscribers: 352,000

Total Views: 16.1 million

This channel is run by a young trader called Adam, and the channel has an emphasis on equity options. His about page says, “I create educational videos that teach people how to trade without the gimmicky sales persona that often accompanies traders on YouTube. I am simply here to help you be a better trader, not shove expensive courses down your throat.” And educate, he does. We found his playlist on Options Trading Strategy Tutorials particularly good. In the videos, he teaches the audience how to trade options on WeBull and Robin Hood, along with different strategies that can be used on both platforms. This is an excellent series for traders who want value for money (or free in this case).

Trading Fraternity

Number of subscribers: 282,000

Total views: 22.3 million

Trading Fraternity is a channel with a difference. Unlike other channels that are run by individuals or organizations, “The Trading Fraternity is a band of brothers and sisters from around the country who help each other learn how to trade stocks on American markets.” A socialist system that teaches people how to make money. Who would have to think it! While the ALL CAPS on the video titles can get a little jarring at times, the content is very good.

SMB Capital

Number of subscribers: 196,000

Total views: 12 million

SMB Capital says “Proprietary Trading firm located in NYC that specializes in day trading equities. Our training programs were designed to help you develop the trading skills to become a consistently profitable trader.” While they have several interesting playlists, the one that we found the most educational is an 11-video playlist titled ‘Options Trading Blunders’. To paraphrase Berkshire Hathaway’s Charlie Munger, “The best way to succeed is to avoid failure.” Go through these 11 videos and retain all the lessons from here. It will be tough for you to lose money.

Sasha Evdakov: Tradersfly

Number of subscribers: 183,000

Total views: 14.5 million

Sasha Evdakov might have named his channel Tradersfly but he makes it very clear that “Stock trading and investing is a long journey – it doesn’t happen overnight.” There are no shortcuts to making money. Evdakov has several playlists that talk about passive investing, penny stocks and the likes but his longest playlists are ‘Options Strategies’ and ‘Options Basics & Fundamentals’, comprising 133 and 120 videos respectively. He has nailed the art of communicating with today’s audience that has a short attention span. A majority of his videos are around the 15-minute mark which makes it easy to consume and digest his content. Get started on the Basics Playlist before moving on to the Options Strategies.

If you are a newbie to the world of options, we suggest that you take your time (maybe even a quarter or more) to understand the world of options trading. The 7 YouTube channels mentioned above are a great place to start. Ensure that you have answers to a lot of questions before you start trading.
